Lottery and Dollar Drive
Dear Parent/Guardian:
In an effort to encourage students to extend their knowledge and skill base beyond what is accomplished in the classroom, I am starting a program called “Lator’s Lotto”. This program is designed to reward students for time spent at home improving basic skills and extending their knowledge of new material.
A log sheet will be provided on which your student can track their time spent either online or completing extra practice provided in class. For every half-hour logged your student will be given a “lotto” ticket. These tickets can be turned in at the end of each quarter for a chance to win gift cards to local stores and restaurants.
To kick-off the program, my math classes are doing a Dollar Drive. I am asking all parents, who are willing to help, to donate $1 to the program to purchase prizes and supplies. I am hoping to raffle off eight $10 dollar gift cards each quarter. The donation of gifts cards would also be appreciated, but is not expected.
Thank you for taking the time to help make your student’s educational experience one that is both meaningful and enjoyable. If you have any questions please contact me via email at [email protected]
Sincerely,
Mr. Jake M. Lator
